Hi there,

Please post a screenshot of the whole file where it's clearly visible for which element(s) you want to change the colors and what file type it is. Please make such screenshot using either Default or Darcula color schema.

I can't post a screenshot of the whole file, it's proprietary information.

The theme is "Windows" in UI settings. Most editors have a white background behind the text, this one is light blue. Which is yours?

There's no "Default" theme, just IntelliJ, Darcula, and Windows. I set the theme last year on v8. I don't need to change themes and make a screenshot of that for you to understand what I mean by "the background color behind the text" (not special text, just code text; most of the background is light blue). It's the absolute most basic default normal type of text you can imagine, and the background color for that is what I'm trying to change. I see no option for it in Settings > Editor > Colors & Fonts > PHP.

There's no setting for "default text" or "just normal code text that isn't special in any way".

Hello,

There are Look-and-Feel themes in File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | Appearance and there are Editor color schemes in File | Settings | Editor | Colors & Fonts - these two are separate.

To remove the blue background of PHP code, you need to go to File | Settings | Editor | Colors & Fonts | PHP, create a copy of Default scheme in order to modify it, then go to PHP Code > Background and remove the inherited attributes and background checkboxes.

Thanks Vladimir, that worked.

However I have multiple projects but I'm not seeing a way to make this setting the default for any project.
