Excessive CPU Utilization in El Capitan OS X

Ever since the 2016.2.2 version of IntelliJ was released, my Scala editor will hang - and give me the beachball - for seconds at a time.  I have to quit and restart.  But eventually it keeps happening.  I moved to the EAP  of 2016.2.3 and seeing slightly better results - I can watch the CPU spike when I use the editor.

Anyone else running into this?  Its getting to the point where I can't use the IDE to get my job done...

I'm also not seeing any EAP releases for a long while now - so no idea what's going on with the plugin in terms of ongoing development.

I haven't had this issue, but as to ongoing development, you could try the nightlies from https://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/SCA/Scala+Plugin+Nightly and see if they happen to improve your situation.

Yeah - I pulled the latest and got a bunch of StackOverflow issues on startup.  The Scala editor never became fully functional.  Overall, that plugin is worse - but to be expected, its the bleeding edge.

Thanks for the feedback. If the issue persists, you could open a ticket on YouTrack with more information about your setup, plugins etc
