No console output in WebStorm when remote debugging firefox. Follow

I'm not getting any output in the webstorm console when debugging with Firefox. I've followed the steps here: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/webstorm/2016.2/debugging-javascript.html#d300360e167 . Breakpoints are working, and type info is being shown but the Console tab is staying decidedly empty.
I started a new project with the "Web starter kit" template, same result. Anyone have any idea?
