Viewing Project Files

Hello, 

I am new to intelliJ but using it for work. I am having trouble viewing my project files in intelliJ. I have deleted the .idea folder and that works for a few minutes. After a few minutes though the .idea folder is regenerated and i again can not see my files. I have tried recloning the repos and it produces the same result. I have also checked the modules to ensure the root path is set and it is. Not sure what else to try so any input or resources would be greatly appreciated.
