Jetbrains applications randomly crash on i9HX processor

Answered

Since the YouTrack issues are successfuly being ignored by Jetbrains staff after running out of prepared answers, I would like to ask for a solution here.

I've ran into problem with JetBrains products on new laptop. For some reason, the applications occasionally crash and I couldn't figure out why. Sometimes it work fine for hours without crashing, sometimes it crashes 3 times per 10 minutes.

When working, the application simply instantly closes itself (all instances), NOT saving recent changes!!!, when for example:

  • something is typed to the editor
  • a keyboard shortcut is pressed
  • project file is opened
  • ...

I'm facting this issue with:

  • IDEA
  • Rider
  • Datagrip

Highlights:

  • OS updated
  • BIOS updated
  • Latest Jetbrains product versions
  • memtest didn't found any issues (6h 30m of testing, 8 passes, 0 errors)
  • built-in and external hardware tests show no hardware issues
  • need to prove hardware issue when asking for replacement via warranty…
