GoLand still scanning excluded files?

Hey I’m new to JetBrains products and currently using GoLand. I’ve marked the app-example directory as “Excluded” but it’s still being scanned and showing problems in the Project Errors tab. I’ve also checked Settings > Appearance & Behaviour > Scopes, and the directory does not appear in any active scopes.

How can I completely ignore a directory or file so that it doesn’t get scanned, indexed or show errors anywhere in the IDE?
