clicking on the file in my project directory automatically goes to the top of project root directory

Hello guys, every time I click on one of the files in my project directory on the right side of the panel, automatically goes to the top of the root directory. 

It even does this when I double click on a file. Should I adjust anything in my Pycharm settings? I'm also on Ubuntu
