Issue with External Monitor Not Detected When Using JetBrains IDEs on New Laptop

Hi everyone! I recently got a new laptop (TravelMate P216-51T-G2), and I’ve noticed that when I’m running JetBrains IDEs (like IntelliJ IDEA or PyCharm), my external portable monitor connected via USB-C doesn't get detected. The monitor powers on but shows "no signal" and turns off shortly after.

The same setup works perfectly with my previous laptop and even with my Chromebook. I’ve tried manually detecting the display through the OS, but no luck.

Has anyone experienced external display issues when using JetBrains IDEs on certain laptops? Could there be any system or IDE-related configuration affecting display output?

Thanks for any insights!

Hi,

To get more context about this issue, can you check if the external display is working when the IDE is not running? Sorry for asking this, but it was not clear from your message, thus want to have this clarified.
