Usually, the pop-up progress bar should be moved to the bottom-right corner once you press Hide. Have you tried to do so, and if yes, was the progress bar positioning preserved?
I would like to not have it appear at all. Only when I press on ‘show all’. I hope that there is a setting for this. It appears way too often because snowflake has to be queried for updated information about the scheme etc. But it sends like THOUSANDS of queries. But that is a separate issue
The progress bar can be either pinned to the bottom or shown as a small pop-up. Any reasons behind your use case why you don't want to see the progress bar pinned to the bottom status bar?
Because when I write SQL statements which change the ddl, which I write often, the popup appears and I have to minimize it. It disrupts the flow of working.
If you hide the pop-up as shown in my screenshot, it should be pinned to the bottom status toolbar and no longer be prompted as pop-up message. If that's not your case, and the positioning is not being preserved, we can investigate it. I'd encourage to report this issue on our tracker and provide the logs

I have made the pop-up small as possible. Lets see how that works
