Junie window not displaying correctly after IntelliJ Ultimate 2025.1.4 update

Answered

After updating IntelliJ Ultimate to version 2025.1.4, Junie stopped functioning properly. Upon launching, Junie does not appear correctly on the screen and instead opens at a significantly reduced size. A screenshot has been attached for reference.

It's broken for phpStorm 2025.1.4 as well. Exact same problem.

Is there any fix for this? Facing issue in IntelliJ Ultimate, there is no way to interact with Junie after update

The only fix that worked was to downgrade back to 2025.1.3

Could you please share steps to downgrade?

There is already a bug ticket for this issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-376303/Junie-inoperative-after-upgrade
So maybe you vote for it and provide additional infos as well?

Dear Customers,

We are very sorry - we have a critical issue with 2025.1.4 IDE versions - Junie doesn’t work there.

We’re working to fix the issue as soon as possible and currently we have reverted the 2025.1.4 IDE release, to be able to use Junie please consider downgrade 2025.1.3 IDE version.

Best Regards,

Junie Support Team

Hello folks,

For those interested to know how to downgrade, I did the steps below:

- Uninstalled IntelliJ 2025.1.4
- Downloaded 2025.1.3 at  https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/other.html for my platform
- Installed it

Thank you.

Thanks, Bartosz Bak, for the clear explanation. I was one of the users who saw the 2025.1.4 update notification yesterday, and I spent a good amount of time searching for information after both the update and its release blog post disappeared

Your post here is the exact kind of communication that would have been helpful from the start. A suggestion for the JetBrains team: instead of removing the release post, simply add a prominent note explaining the situation. It would save a lot of us from wondering what happened and thinking we'd imagined an update.
