There are MANY things that are no longer working. Now when I do Ctrl-N (Open File) it is not finding any of my files. I have to use Shift-Shift for find all. Something is very off here
am not sure how but things have begun working again. maybe it just had to build all the caches. Not really sure what happened to cause it in the first place.
I did notice that even when I did Find In Files, it didn't pull anything up until i did it like 4 different times. then it started working again.
Seems like there is still something off but can't put my finger on it
I’m glad to hear everything is working now. If the issue reoccurs, please feel free to open a support ticket so we can investigate it in detail. However, most probably this was caused by the update, since 2025.3 is a major platform update and processes like reindexing, project re-initialisation, cache refreshing were running in the background.
I had same problem with 2025.3. “Select Opened File” icon in the “Project” view did nothing.
I did “Rebuild project” from Build menu and “Sync All Gradle Projects” from Gradle sidebar. Did not help, so next I tried to quit Intellij Idea and launch it again. Then the “Select Opened File” started to work.
I found this page with Google, so adding my comments here.
Also, Find In Files for the Project level is also broken. I need to use Directory now which I never did before

I'm still facing the issue with 2025.3.2 (IntelliJ Ultimate, MacOS 26)
Hi Thomas Peyrard

I was experiencing the same issue on Windows 11: every time I tried to use Open, the file explorer would pop up but then IntelliJ would crash.
I solved it by switching from the Windows file chooser to IntelliJ’s internal one:
After that, the crash stopped and everything works fine.
