How to restore Project View and Tab fonts to black after Material Theme UI update?
Summary of the problem:Project View and Editor Tab fonts stuck in low-contrast grey after Material Theme UI 10.8.0 update
Environment: OS: Windows 10 IDE: PyCharm 2025.3.1 Plugin: Material Theme UI 10.8.0 (The version causing the issue)
Description: After updating the "Material Theme UI" plugin to version 10.8.0, the font color of the IDE interface became unreadable. Specifically:
- The font in the Project View (structure tree on the left) turned light grey.
- The font on the Editor Tabs (top bar) also turned light grey.
Due to the low contrast between the text and the background, it is nearly impossible to read (please see the attached screenshot).

What I have tried: I have attempted the following steps, but none of them worked (the issue persists even after restarting the software):
- Switched between different Themes multiple times in Settings > Appearance & Behavior > Appearance.
- Completely uninstalled the Material Theme UI plugin.
- Searched for keywords like "font" and "color" in Settings but could not find the specific setting to control these UI elements.
Question: How can I revert the font color of the Project View and Tabs back to the default black? Since uninstalling the plugin didn't help, are there any specific configuration files I need to reset?

Please share your settings (Go to "File | Manage settings | Export settings" and export your settings, then upload the zip to https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ and share the upload ID).
This could be font settings, scope settings, or some combination of settings that are the corner case.
Hi Nadia,

Please let me know if you need any further information.
In your settings, you've set “Settings | Version Control | File Status Colors”, “Up to date” - “File status color” to a light gray.
If a project does not have a corresponding .git folder, or everything is up to date, this means the file name will be typed in light grey. Disable this settings to prevent light gray and switch to the default instead.
