Your product re-install and upgrade experience sucks
I have installed multiple JetBrain products on my PC, like Rider and WebStorem, but I don't use them too often, maybe once per several months. Every time I need to use them I want to use the latest version so I try to download from the website and installed again
However, even the install process ask me whether I want to overwrite the previous version and I said yes, but it NEVER works. The overwirte always failed. And after I install the new version, the old version uninstall feature doesn't work anymore. So there is always multiple version for the same product, and I have to delete them manaully on my PC.
This sucks

To investigate further can you please collect the idea‑updater.log, it should be under %LOCALAPPDATA%\JetBrains\WebStorm<version>\log (the version should be the one you updated from) and upload it to our secure server https://uploads.jetbrains.com/
We did address this issue in the past, we would need to investigate if there was an edge case we have not handled. Thank you!

I'd recommend using JetBrains Toolbox instead of manual installers. It manages updates much better and avoids multiple broken installations. Hopefully JetBrains improves the overwrite process in future releases.
