Using Lua in Clion

Answered

Hi there, since I'm new to Clion, I'm wondering why the Lua extension does not show when I want to create a new project. It does show however in IntelliJ IDEA.

I'm getting a little bit confused. Wasn't Lua influenced by the C language? Why is it under Java, as it is nothing compare to that? Also, are there any chances to have it under Clion as well?

Thank you kindly!

Hi, @dsm.ide!

There is a Lua plugin which can be used in CLion. Is it suitable for you?

Yes it is, but only if I embedded it in C/C++ code. On the other hand, you can install the same plugin in IntelliJ IDEA. Only then you can create plain projects.

I'm okay with that, but I expected it to be under Clion.

@Anna-Falevskaya,

Any chance for a dedicate Lua IDE from JetBrains?
It would be amazing to have such tool as the IDE world of Lua is really dull.
