Is there a way to enable support for syntax highlighting and auto completion in javascript template literals?

Not sure I follow you... Is it about injecting language into tagged template literals? It's supported since 2017.3 - see https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-22106#comment=27-2451611
