Incorrect profiler snapshot format: incorrect function parameters

Answered

This seems to be coming up a lot, with months or even years difference. Is there anyway to modify this error message to at least include the function (or name format) the parser is erring out on? It would help greatly to narrow down why.

This is my error: "Incorrect profiler snapshot format: incorrect function parameters"

Project is using Symfony 2.8.x, proprietary internal libraries.

I can't attach the output file, internal reasons. I'd be happy to email somebody directly for debugging purposes.

Hi there,

I believe it's related to Xdebug 2.6 -- it uses newer format.

You are using PHP 7.1.x .... so it's OK to use Xdebug 2.5.x

That issue will be fixed for PhpStorm next major version (2018.1) -- some tickets are already marked as fixed so you may try next EAP build (not sure if current EAP build has them already -- most likely not)...

If I'm wrong with my assumption -- some more details are welcome (e.g. sample profiler output). But please check EAP build when it will contain fixes from those tickets -- maybe it will cover your case.

You can downgrad xdebug by installing exactly the following version

./pecl install xdebug-2.5.5

Current 2018.1 EAP contains all the fixes for Xdebug 2.6 snapshots.
