Version Control Console no longer visible in EAP?
Answered
I'm running
IntelliJ IDEA 2018.2 EAP (Ultimate Edition)
Build #IU-182.3341.11, built on June 19, 2018
IntelliJ IDEA EAP User
Expiration date: July 19, 2018
JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1226-b7 amd64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
Windows 10 10.0
And I can't see anymore the Version Control Console

Is something I may have disabled by accident, or has been removed by choice?

The console is not shown initially and appears only after some git commands are executed. Have you run any git operations?
It also could be disabled via IDE Registry, but I doubt that can be done accidentally.
After a couple restarts of the IDE now I see the console.
I'm pretty sure I did several git operations in the previous session, maybe there was only something stuck, or I've been blind for some time!
Thanks anyway for the quick answer
