Getting error when running requests.get

Hello All,

I tried to run below code:

1. import requests
2.  
3. r = requests.get("http://google.com")
4.  
5. print("status: ", r.status_code)
6.  
7. print(r.url)

but, after a long wait, i get this error:

Looks like Pycharm is not able to connect to the Internet.

I am getting similar message when i try to install any package from within Pycharm:

Can anyone please help me urgently.
