Terminal displaying characters incorrectly in 2017.3 update

Answered

I'm facing this issue in the 2017.3 update of PyCharm and IntelliJ.

The terminal is not processing characters correctly. Some examples:

1. Multiple lines on single "enter":

2. Incorrect rendering of text while using autocomplete:

I've uploaded the idea.log file on https://uploads.services.jetbrains.com/ by the name: Terminal_displaying_characters_incorrectly_in_2017.3_update_idea.log

My terminal setup is zsh + prezto. Using OSX El Capitan v 10.11.6, let me know if any more details are required.

Found the same issue raised in these places, none of them have a solution:

Thanks Yaroslav. This worked for IntelliJ, it didn't work for PyCharm. Will try modifying the PyCharm .zshrc file further.

You are welcome! Generally the same code used in both IDEs, so it should help with PyCharm.
