Pycharm suddenly crashed on Ubuntu 16.04LTS

Pycharm was working perfectly till I opened notebooks in the browser and as soon as  both the notebooks in the application and the browser had to sync there was an error and i closed it. After that, it shows pycharm as opening but it never really opens just loads and disappears into the background. Any help would be appreciated
