folder deleted from remote server

I just started using pycharm today. I wanted to create a new project using a remote project interpreter. I specified a folder already containing my code for the "remote project location, but when I pressed create, I get the message "Automatic upload completed in less than a minute: 1 item deleted" and find that my entire folder with all of my code is deleted.

Is there any way to recover this folder? Why did this happen?

Here are my deployment options. It's unclear why my folder would be deleted from these options.
