Is the issue specific to certain project? What OS are you on?
Do you have java crash logs created once the issue occurs? Please check for presence of
java_error_in_webstorm_*.logfiles in your user profile directory and provide them along with your log folder (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/206544519-Directories-used-by-the-IDE-to-store-settings-caches-plugins-and-logs) content.
