History of commit message confirmation by keyboard

When in commit dialog I want to reuse commit message from history. So I press command+E to open history items, then I select history item with up/down keys and then I want to confirm selection. 'Enter' key doesn't work and 'Escape' key returns to previous message. What should I do to confirm selected historical message? I want to continue editing it afterwards.
