i just downloaded pycharm, started it started a project and (call me stupid) haven't figured out how to start coding. can anyone help me? most of the online tutorials haven't helped either

Most of the online tutorials didn't help? What exactly are you trying to code? There are plenty of Python getting started tutorials out there.
