Branches on the Clion settings repository

Hello all,

I am referring to this feature of Clion: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/idea/sharing-your-ide-settings.html

Is it possible to also use branches? Meaning checking in and out settings from a branch on the repository?

We would like to have a company-wide default Clion settings profile which then people can customize and store on personal branches.
