Having issues with key-mapping not being the same be.

 I use Pycharm and Intellij for coding and I can not get them to work the same. This comes to moving around in a file. The main issue is highlighting text in Intellij I can use Shift and an arrow key to highlight text then use backspace to delete it. This is not the case in Pycharm as i get a weird response where I just shorten the amount of highlighted text.  I have tried to sync key-mapping and that does not work, I have tried to change the key-mapping so that it is similar to eclipse still no success. I cant find how to change this in the settings so this is my final hope. Any ideas would be great or a phone number to call as for some reason as I cant find a phone number to call to just talk to a person.
