Updating PyCharm 2017.1.1 failing to prepare an update
Answered
Hi there,
I'm running PyCharm 2017.1.1 in perpetual license on macOS High Sierra 10.13.5
I'm trying to update PyCharm following this post https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/keep-product-up-to-date.html
I skipped all version up to 2017.1.2 which offers me Update&Restart option. But the update fails with message.
Failed to prepare an update: Cannot download 'https://download.jetbrains.com/python/PY-171.4163.6-171.4249.47-patch-mac.jar': Status: 403
If I try to open the link in browser it says access denied. I restarted OS but it changed nothing.
Thanks for any help!

Hi, I think the patch was already removed from the server. Please install the desired version manually from https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/download/previous.html The settings are stored separately from the installation itself so they should not be affected.
Hi Pavel,
Thanks for your help. I can get the updated version following your link but once installed I can't activate it anymore. "License expired" which is true, but I have perpetual fallback license.
If I understood correctly this explanation:

I should be able to use any 2017.1.X version available, isn't?
Thanks
Please ignore my previous message. I tried 2017.1.2 which I had a problem licensing but after installing 2017.1.8 all worked well.
Thanks!
