New file : can't enter text into it

Anyone else getting a problem when they create a new file but then can't type anything into it? Had it happen a few times in a couple of days. Had to delete it and recreate to fix.

Version 2018.2 ( #RM-182.3684.86 ) running on mojave OSX
I think it has happened on both js.jsx and html.erb files. I was also in full screen mode. Doesn't happen all the time but it has happened quite a few.
