Linux CTRL Mapped to CAPS -- Does not CTRL-Tab open files

Answered

Hello,

If I run Ctrl-Tab I get the list to show open files.

If I keep on pressing Tab (while keeping Ctrl pressed), it works properly:: the list moves through open files.

I have the left-Ctrl key mapped to the CapsLock key.

I have a Windows machine, and a Linux (Xubuntu 18) machine.

Both machines have the left-Ctrl-->CapsLock mapping.

On the Windows machine, the IntelliJ list of open files opens properly, and cycles properly.

Yet on the linux machine, the list opens, yet it doesn't "open the selected file"  when releasing Ctrl (physically, releasing CapsLock).

Any idea what I could check/try?

I found this similar issue from 2012.  Similar, yet not the same.

Could you please also share idea.log ("Help | Show Log in...") after restarting IDE?

Umm... I just posted the log, and it didn't show up.

Giving it another go on next post.

Thanks for the help Yaroslav.

Let me know if I can do anything else on my side.

Could you please try to temporary disable custom plugins:

Loaded custom plugins: BashSupport (1.7.2), IDE Features Trainer (0.8.62), IdeaVim (0.49)

Alright.

I first disabled the plugins you asked for --> situation persists.

I then disabled ALL the custom plugins I have installed (BashSupport, Docker integration HOCON, IDE Features Trainer, IdeaVIM, LiveEdit, NodeJS, PHP and Python) --> situation persists.

I think a clue could be the re-mapping I have done in my system.

I am running an Xubuntu 18.04 machine (Ubuntu with Xfce), and on login into Xfce, I have the following line:

<code>setxkbmap  -option caps:ctrl_modifier</code>

For some reason, she doesn't register the "key-up" for the re-mapped ctrl (physical CAPS key).

If I use the lower left/right ctrl key, IntelliJ works perfectly.

Thank you for your help.

Any idea what else I could try?

Sorry, I have no idea what might be wrong.

Please report an issue on YouTrack, so developers could check it:: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA.

I'm having the exact same issue so I filed https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-35996 (couldn't find existing bug if you filed one already)
