Ubuntu logs out when closing Bookmarks in IntelliJ
Answered
Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 with IntellijIDEA Ultimate EAP 2018.3.3 Build #IU-183.5153.8 and OpenJDK from JetBrains, jre1.8.0_152-release-1343-b26.
After editing the name of a Bookmark in the Bookmars window, when I close the Bookmark window, Ubuntu instantly logs me out of the system.
I'm guessing it has to do with session priviledges / X11, but before posting on a Ubunut forum - has anyone experienced this behaviour?
*Had the same problem on the non-EAP, licensed version.
Thx,
Marika

Hello Marika,
Do you face the same issue with other popups/dialogs?
Similar issue was reported for IDEA 15: https://askubuntu.com/questions/693553/unexpected-logout-while-working-in-intellij-idea
Hi Yaroslav,
thanks for the link. In my case I get no errors beforehand, no blank windows etc. and no other popups or dialogs cause it, just the Bookmarks.
It's always like this: I open the menu (Shift + F11), select an existing bookmark, enter a description and click "OK". At first attempt the screen goes out and back in, once. Then when I repeat these steps in the same Intellij session, next time I click "OK" ubuntu logs me out.
I checked two logs, but nothing was printed during that time:
~/.IntelliJIdea2018.3/system/log/idea.log
~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log
Marika,
Please report new issue on YouTrack attaching idea.log ("Help | Show Log in...") after restarting IDE and reproducing the issue: http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/IDEA.
fyi: there seems to be an open issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-205808
Marika,
Thanks for the link! Haven't found it.
