Intellij Deleted all Projects

I was working in a Word document, which caused my computer to freeze up while I had a project open in Intellij. I then went back into Intellij to find that all files except the workspace.xml in the .idea folder had been deleted, as well as every other Intellij project which was in the same directory as the one I had open. When I try to open said project now, there is no local history and no files which I can access. I have combed my computer for the deleted files and I have not been able to find them. Has anyone had this problem/knows how to restore the files?
