Connection refused, trying to activate my account

I'm getting this error trying to activate my account, i'm not sure what's the problem..

My computer can connect to www.jetbrains.com, but fails connecting account.jetbrains.com .

I'm getting "This site can’t be reached"

What does it mean?

i have the same issue and i can connect to account.jetbrains.com and www.jetbrains.com

such issues can happen when account.jetbrains.com is explicitly blocked. Please check your system hosts file - do you have anything related to account.jetbrains.com there?

open your hosts file, and comments the urls that related to JetBrains:

`sudo vim /etc/hosts`

check your system hosts file, firewall settings, etc.

If you can't find anything suspicious, try contacting your local network administrator

I have removed line from hosts, IntelliJ IDEA 2019 has been activated successfully, but WebStorm 2020 throws error as in question of topic starter. Can you help me?

I fixed this issue by disabling the IDE's proxy in "File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | HTTP Proxy" then selecting "No proxy".
