GitHub token not saved on macOS

Answered

Every time I try and push changes to GitHub it prompts me for my username and password, even if I submit it once with the Remember box checked. In Preferences I have generated an API token but when I click Apply, close Preferences and go back to it the box is empty again.

Go to Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Passwords and make sure IDE is configured to save passwords.

If it is set to KeyChain already, the issue might be caused by https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-183847 Then lock the keychain and unlock it again - saving passwords and token should start working -

I have the same problem. Fiddling with keychain seemed to have no effect.

FWIW using Catalina.

Try restarting the OS and/or reinstall the IDE. The issue might be caused by plist.info modification during the update. See https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-183847
