PHPStorm hangs on 150% cpu after connecting Macbook to monitors

At home I work directly on the Macbook. When I connect it to my monitors at work and wake up the Mackbook, PHPStorm hangs on 150% cpu and I have to force quit.

I am not sure if it happens every time, but definitely most of the time.

Anyone else experience this?

That's a known problem & the fix will be included in one of the upcoming IDE updates: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-1393.

As a temporary solution you can try switching JDK: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-1393#focus=streamItem-27-3479261.0-0
