PHPDOC Code hints while typing

Answered

Using 2019.1. Can I setup phpdoc so that when it is type hinting it gives me the info that I put in the class? Let's say I forget what ID is so I can remind myself using the PHPDOC on the class that gets included in the hinting. Or I have an array/selection of standard names I want used that it can tell me to pick from.

Also how do you cause the type hinting to appear without deleting and readding the comma? Trying to learn some of the user experience things.

Hi there,

If you want to see function/class/variable details -- use "View | Quick Documentation" (Ctrl+Q using Default keymap on Windows) -- you would need to place caret on the element first (now works inside function braces () as well) -- it will show a popup with details). It needs to be invoked manually though (unless you pin and tell it to auto update for any symbol under caret... which may not work as you expect in all cases/when typing other function calls/variables there).

Use Ctrl+P (or whatever you have got there for "View | Parameter Info" action)

So I can just use ctrl + q, dock it to the right, or have it as a popup. I can make do with that for now thanks!

Upvoted that feature request.

Also, you may enable "Show quick documentation on mouse move" in "Editor | Font" to show quick documentation on mouse hover (could be annoying though).
