Thinking about buying Macbook Pro

Hi,
i already have a MBP 2017 i7 with 16 GB. Does it make sense to buy the latest MBP with a i9 processor and 32 GB?
Actually i am happy with the performance, but sometimes i could need more ram. Would there be a huge improvement when using a i9 processor? I am developing a lot with API, Databse etc in Java. I think th I/O Performance would be the most important thing or?
Any one a suggestion?

I'd say yes. The I/O and CPU could matter for more seedy indexing. Check also https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/206261089
If you can, wait until the end of the year. There are persistent rumors about a 16" MacBook Pro w/upgraded stats. It might not pan out, but is probably worth the wait just to be sure.

now I got a MBP 16" with 32 GB of RAM but I must say, that I don't have any improvement of the 32 GB RAM compared to my 16 GB older MBP. The 16" MBP with 32 RAM has a i7 9.generation. Would it be more interesting to change it to a 16" with 16GB RAM but a i9? I think the i9 will not be realllllly faster when developing or?
The biggest problem is the color :D I ordered a silver one, but I miss my space grey one :D
