Hello,

I'm having trouble connecting to mysql remote. I have mysql 8.0.16 version and trying to connect as root user.It says access denied for user 'root'@' ip of my server'

thanks vasily for reply. That was the issue. I added the user with username@'%', % for any ip address. I could give it a my ip addr but I would be unavailable to connect with the server from another computer(another ip addr). I was wondering how safe it is to add user with %

Do you have access rights for your <ip>?
