Distraction mode breaks regression in 2019.3 EAP

I've been always using the distraction free mode, where only one file will be opened and once you close that, no files will be displayed - which is good and quite distraction free - navigations can be done with 'Recent Files' or 'Files / Classes / ...' searching. But after upgrading to 2019.3 EAP version of WebStorm, this is changed. Now closing one file will see previous file being active and displayed. It's distracting. I really don't like this.

Is this expected to be a feature? Or do I have a way to have the origin behaviour back(by settings or something)? Personally I think this adds more distraction for users that properly handled their navigations through shortcuts instead of tabs, and I don't quite like it.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I'm not 100% sure .. but I think it must be this one: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-211035

When you enter into "Distraction Free" mode, the Editor tabs is set to "None" (Settings (Preferences on macOS) | Editor | General | Editor Tabs | Tab placement)

It's now fixed and "None" affects Tabs visibility only and not amount of tabs. You may check what issues it had before there in ticket comments.

Hi Andriy,

Thanks for the quick reply. Gone through the discussion and seems this is a new feature. Will reply there.
