Configure default settings for new Gradle project?

There appears to be no way to set default Gradle options for new projects.  Am I missing something?

For an existing project, the the Gradle options panel is

Note the ability to set the Gradle JVM and the test runner.

When looking for a way to set the default Gradle JVM for new projects, one finds:

Note the lack of a way to set the Gradle JVM (or test runner).

Am I missing something?  Is there a way to set defaults for these?
