Upgrading from 2018.2 to 2019.3 ...

While I'm still part of the yearly licensing program, stayed on 2018.2 because was so glad to find a version without the usual and ritual various UI (regression) bug each time a new version was released (either in Undo, or in Find, or Display, or Regex, or ............). Not vital bugs, but annoying enough that landing on 2018.2 was a relief! [my point is not arguing about regressions, and I love PhpStorm for its time saving capacities! ]

Anyway, that makes it more than a year, and am very interested in 2019.3 (performance improvements among other things).

So the question is:

From 2018.2, would it be better to install the 2019.3 new release with default parameters and spending some time tuning the soft, or would I be taking a risk by retrieving the 2018.2 settings?

Well, there can't be much harm in importing the previous settings, maybe something will be lost considering how much we've changed this year, but otherwise, there are no downsides to it.
I'd definitely go with importing the settings if I were you.
