RubyMine does not start on macOS 10.13.6

Answered

Hi all,

I was upgrade to RubyMine 2019.3 from 2019.2 a few days ago, and enjoy cording.

However, RubyMine 2019.3 does not start when updated Mac Security update 2019-006.

I tried down grade to 2019.2 with JetBrains Toolbox, but it still does not start.

Does anyone have similar situation?

Anyone have an idea of what could be the solution?

Environment:

  • macOS Hight Sierra 10.13.6
  • RubyMine 2019.3

Hello,

could you please check how it goes in case you start RubyMine from the terminal? What is the output you get?

Hello Olga,

When I type 'open RubyMine.app' in the Terminal, I get:

LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed for the application /Applications/RubyMine.app with error -10810.

Could you please check if there are custom VM options in the RubyMine.app/Contents/bin/rubymine.vmoptions file. You can try moving that file to another place and check how it goes.

Thanks!

I tried to move rubymine.vmoptions file and type open RubyMine.app

but I got similar output.

LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/RubyMine.app.

Sorry for the delay! Which JDK are you using? Would it be possible to check how it goes in RubyMine 2020.1.2 (with the bundled JDK)?
