TypeScript - use paths relative to tsconfig.json doesn't autocomplete when using * (all values) in paths property

I have a tsconfig.json file in my project where I have this setup:

`{ baseUrl: '.', paths: '*': [ 'src/*/' ] }`

It seems that the "use paths relative to tsconfig.json" doesn't recognize a "paths" property of all values (AKA *). If I explicitly add a paths property to point to a nested folder then the auto-completion of path works but without it doesn't.

Are you familiar with this behavior?

It's worth mentioning that the code actually works, it's the auto-completion feature that doesn't work.

Not sure what completion you are talking about, please could you explain? Screenshots illustrating the issue would be helpful

when I start typing the name of the directory then it shows a dropdown with relevant options: (I'd rephrase it with path suggestions rather than autocompletion)

so for e.g in this printscreen as you can see it identifies the src directory and also everything under it but when I use the all values configuration under paths in tsconfig.json then it doesn't recognize the directories under src (for e.g components is one of the directories):

printscreen of tsconfig.json baseUrl and paths config:
