Make VCS Commit window modeless instead of modal?

Answered

The commit window (CTRL+K or VCS->Commit.. menu) seems to be modal.

Before committing I check all changes and it is not uncommon that I want to perform some additional modification. I'm aware you can click the right side editor and enable inline editing, but additional changes don't always just affect that one file or at that particular place. This means I now _must_ close the VCS Commit window before I can do some proper editing.

Is there any chance to make this window modeless/non-modal?

PS: At the moment, with the window being modal, it seems to also beat the purpose of having a refresh button. Unless you're going to make changes through a secondary editor.

You can enable non-modal commit by going to Settings/Preferences | Version Control | Commit Dialog and check "Commit From local Changes without showing the Commit dialog".
