MacOS 10.15.3 + CLion 2018.3.4: Debugger Borken
Answered
Problem: The debugger generally ignores breakpoints
Environment:
- MacOS 10.15.3
- CLion 2018.3.4
Toolchain:
- CMake: Bundled (3.13.2.)
- Debugger: Bundled LLDB (6.0.1)
Reproduce:
1. Create a new project using New Project -> C Executable with default settings.
2. Set a breakpoint.
3. Click the Debug button in the toolbar.
The application is executed, the output "Hello, World!" is visible on the console, no errors reported, the breakpoint is ignored.

Hello!
The bundled LLDB should work fine on Catalina in the latest CLion version - 2019.3.4 (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/CPP-17126). Please try using it.
Hi Anna, thank you for your prompt reply! I already have a paid license for the 2018 version of CLion and would like to continue using it. Is there any chance that this problem will be fixed for this version?
The issue is fixed only in CLion 2019.2.2, 2019.2.4 and later versions. And the fix is not planned to be back-ported. And updates for CLion 2018.3 are also not planned.
Thank you again for your super-fast replies!
Well, then I've got a perpetual license for a product I can't do anything with :)
If such critical problems are not being fixed for prior versions, then the perpetual license appears to be pretty useless.
Disappointing, but good to know :)
Have a great day!
