Pycharm 2020.1 right click on mac os not working

Pycharm got updated to 2020.1 and now right clicking (e.g. two-finger touch on the trackpad) on Mac OS is not working anymore. Just nothing happens. Any idea what to reset or how to fix this?

also if i go to preferences and try to change some shortcut there to use that right mouse button it gets mapped to "mouse button 3" - is that supposed to be the right mouse button?

I have the same issue after just upgraded from 2019.3

Same issue for me with IntelliJ. However, I installed on two different systems and only one of them has this problem.

There is an issue open here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-41620 I sure hope someone offers a workaround / fix quickly. 2020.1 is unusable for me without right click context menus working. I tried disabling some plugins based on the stack traces in the logs but something very fundamental seems to be broken in certain configurations. :(

Most likely the issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-233252

Please follow for updates.

Yes! That was my issue! I had unused "external tools" configured and after deleting those I'm happy to report that the context menu is working once again.

disabling all plugins and then re-enabling them worked for me

the tools menu had many duplicate entries for things like xml actions etc. after reenabling plugins it was back to normal. looks like migration from previous version is not working well

Thanks to Alexei Baevski's suggestion I was able to fix it. However I had to disable the plugin `FTP/SFTP Connectivity (ex. Remote Hosts Access)` in order for this to work. The error log at `~/.cache/JetBrains/PyCharm2020.1/log/idea.log` shows:

    2020-04-15 00:00:08,865 [ 192694] ERROR - llij.ide.plugins.PluginManager - class com.intellij.openapi.actionSystem.impl.ChameleonAction cannot be cast to class com.intellij.openapi.actionSystem.ActionGroup (com.intellij.openapi.actionSystem.impl.ChameleonAction and com.intellij.openapi.actionSystem.ActionGroup are in unnamed module of loader com.intellij.util.lang.UrlClassLoader @77f80c04)

It must be a bug somewhere. Would be good to fix it.

Same issue on Linux with IDEA. Fixed as suggested by Alexei Baevski. I also had the same errors in the logs as Simonzack.

But for me it continued to work even with FTP/SFTP Connectivity plugin enabled.

For me Alexei Baevski's *almost* helped. When I re-enabled all plugins, my right click stopped working again. After toggling some plugins I finally found that the culprit in my case is the bundled Terminal plugin. Disabling only that one got my right click back :)

Right-click was not working on IntelliJ 2020.

Disabled a lot of plugins (so I don't know which one did the trick but I had FTP disabled/Terminal enabled, now both are disabled).

It works again now with the configuration below:

There's a known issue for context menu: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-233252

Though it's not about plugins.

Andrey Resler I know about the other ticket but I can confirm my issue was not related.

I never had remote tools (didn't even know it before reading the issue). I removed all my external tools to no avail. But removing plugins worked.

I guess these are two different issues with the same results.

Confirm that having disabled the 'FTP/SFTP Connectivity (ex. Remote Hosts Access) right-click got back to work :)

Confirm that right click does not work on windows neither.

When I remove the FTP/SFTP Connectivity (ex. Remote Hosts Access), right click works. However, I need this plugin to work. So I guess I'll revert back to a stable version.

How guys doing regression tests of the UI before deploying it? Seems to me that it is not the first time that this bug happens for whatever lower level reason.

After seing, Andrey Resler comment. I realized that I had an external tool with the same same as a remote external tool. Now everything is working fine.
