SSR - Replacement regex group variables in Structural Replace templates

Hi,

There is a YouTrack ticket, IDEA-194766, on which Bas Leijdekkers wrote a comment about that regex capturing groups in the template variable texts can be targeted by creating special, indexed replacement variables.

I've commented on that ticket but I'm hoping that I'll get answer here sooner.

So, the definition of indexed template variables seems to working still and they are considered valid by the editor, but I haven't managed to get any of the regex capturing groups to be assigned to these variables.

Could you please confirm whether this feature still exists, and if it does, in what way can it be used?

If possible I would also appreciate a related code location in the IntelliJ Community project, so I could look into the implementation details as well.
