Open File or Project Dialogue stuck

Answered

Hello,

I wanted to try out CLion and see if it works for me - unfortunately, as soon as I try to import any project, the import dialogue will default to my home directory. And not only my home directory, but it will search the main /afs directory for tens of thousands of users and different afs mounts (at least that's what I assume, I see a "loading..."). Needless to say, it gets stuck and is entirely unresponsive. How do I circumvent this?

I'm running CLion 2020.1.1 on an old CentOS 7.

Cheers,

Tobias

Hello!

You can try changing the default project directory in File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings.

The same problem has been happening to me since version 2021.1

Do you not realize that people work in corporate NFS environments?

I also see that installing CLion on my Mac, and remotely interacting with machines is unusably slow.

My CLion license expires in early October... and I will not be renewing...

Hi @...!

Does changing the default project directory in File | Settings | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings help?

>I also see that installing CLion on my Mac, and remotely interacting with machines is unusably slow

Could you please describe the setup in more detail?
