Hide absolute file paths in Local Changes

Hi, is it possible to get rid of absolute paths in Local Changes, and either show nothing or show paths relative to the project? The paths are so long that in order to actually see them, I would need to expand the pane to take more than half of my entire screen which is annoying when I want to actually read the diff or use the editor on the side

and if I make the pane small so I can see the diff, navigating the files using arrow keys overlays the full absolute path and frequently obstructs the changes I want to read, which makes for really frustrating user experience:

You can group by directory to hide path:

Is there no way to do it without changing the grouping settings? I prefer a completely flat view instead of a folder hierarchy, and don't need to see absolute paths which are still visible next to modules in your screenshots. The old GitHub Desktop client did this very well in my opinion, a flat view with relative folder paths:
