Pycharm file excluded - unable to undo

My site-packages file on pycharm, which I have recently downloaded, is entirely listed as excluded. When I pull up the context menu the "mark directory as" option is grayed out and unable to be clicked on. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hello,

Please attach a screenshot of the project structure https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/configuring-project-structure.html and expand a location where the folder is.

Thank you!

Hello thanks for the response,

This is what it looks like for me. I did not change anything, the site-packages folder in the Python 3.9 tab under external libraries came in as excluded. When I attempt to change the directory this is what it shows:

Hello,

Please open the File | Settings | Project | Project Structure for Windows/Linux  /
PyCharm | Preferences | Project | Project Structure for macOS. Do you see the directory excluded there? Please delete it from "exclusions".

Let me know if it helps.

I did not find the directory in there, but it is still showing up as excluded.

This is what it looks like under project structure.

And this is what it looks like under the folder.

Hello,

By default, PyCharm excludes the venv directory right after creation. I am wondering what is the purpose of disabling exclusion? The files are being excluded from the indexing process, as there is no need in it - the files are not going to be changed, exclusion should decrease project indexing time.
