Click drag select is over-selecting text in file tab
I'm not sure when this started happening, but when I left-click text from my mouse and drag, I'm getting inconsistent behavior that I can't pin down yet. It tends to over-select areas of text on the line, when I want to drag-select the cursor (caret?) just one character at a time, as it used to do.
There's some other weird glitchy behavior with this, but this particular issue seems like an "enhancement" that I don't like, which I'm assuming has a setting that I can change but I just haven't found yet.
Is there somewhere to change the behavior of click-drag in file text?

Do you have "Column selection mode" enabled? Can be checked in a context menu by right clicking in editor.
Does it happen in all file types?
What OS & IDE version are you on?
Are you using mouse or touchpad?
No, column selection mode is not enabled... why would you think that? What I'm reporting wouldn't match up with how click-drag behaves in that mode. Please read again what I wrote more carefully and try what I'm reporting yourself, then ask any clarifying questions if my description isn't specific enough.
I only edit .php files right now.
I use a mouse.
This isn't reproducible here, nor can I see similar reports on our tracker.
If possible, please capture a video/screencast that would illustrate the problem.
